NEW DELHI: An elderly couple was on Monday found murdered at their residence in a posh south Delhi locality with police suspecting their absconding domestic help to be behind the crime.

Ashok Goel (62) and his wife Lata (55) were found dead at their Neeti Bagh residence with stab wounds on Monday morning, a senior police official said.

The killer used a sharp-edged weapon to murder the couple, who is survived by two married daughters, the official said.

Their servant, who was employed a week ago, was missing and police suspect him to be behind the murder.

The official said police had gone to Goel's residence to verify his antecedents earlier but he was not present at the house at that time.

"A hunt is on to nab the domestic help who is suspected to be behind the murders," the official said.
