Eid-ul-Fitr: Muslim organisation cautions against mischief makers
Muslim organisation today appealed for calm and said trouble makers could indulge in mischief on Eid-ul-Fitr which is being celebrated tomorrow.
The Coordination Committee of Indian Muslims on Assam said here that while violence largely against Muslims and others in Assam is a deplorable act, "what is happening in the aftermath of violence is a frightening development."
It said ulemas in their Eid 'khutbas' should appeal to the community to maintain calm and remain vigilant.
"...provocative SMS and emails trying to fan communal passions is a dangerous communal design by some anti-national elements proactive in the country eyeing on the general elections," a statement by the committee said.
It said with Eid being celebrated tomorrow, "We apprehend that these anti-national forces would try to create mischief on the occasion...There is no need to act in any senseless and emotional way. All attempts to create trouble must be stopped forthwith."
