Effigies of Sushma Swaraj and Lalit Modi burnt in Kolkata
Demanding resignation of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj over the Lalit Modi controversy, Congress workers burnt their effigies in Kolkata

Youth Congress workers carrying placards were seen demanding resignation of Swaraj shouting slogans against the Narendra Modi government for extending help to scam-tainted former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi in procuring travel documents in the UK.
Effigies of Swaraj and Lalit Modi were burnt in Jadubazar area of Bhawanipore in the city.
Opposition parties have demanded that the Prime Minister explain the help provided by Swaraj to the scam-tainted former IPL chief and also sought her resignation in the matter.
While ruling BJP have stood by Swaraj, opposition including Congress have slammed the "double standards" of the ruling party and said the Prime Minister must apologise to the nation for the controversy.
