The move comes weeks ahead of assembly elections in Rajasthan. In a related development, the federal agency carried out raids on Thursday on premises linked to Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra and Independent MLA Om Prakash Hudla.
According to people in the know, the raids were carried out by the agency in connection with paper leak and Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) cases. It might be mentioned here that this is the first time the agency has carried out raids on Dotasra and Hudla. As per the available information, nearly a dozen premises were raided by the agency.
The paper leak case relates to the leak of the General Knowledge question paper for Senior Teacher Grade II Competitive Examination, which was scheduled to be conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission on December 21, 22 and 24, 2022. It is alleged that the accused supplied the question paper to appearing candidates for Rs 8 to 10 lakh per candidate.

The PHED case pertains to irregularities in the Jal Jeevan Mission. The ED had initiated investigation based on a case registered by the anti-corruption bureau of Rajasthan against individual contractors, Padamchand Jain and others for allegedly bribing public servants to secure illegal protection, obtain tenders, approve bills and conceal irregularities related to contracts with PHED.
