ED carries out search operations at 'Newsclick'

NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday carried out searches on the premises belonging to a news portal and its promoters.

The premises of the news portal- Newsclick- and its promoters were searched in South Delhi’s Saidullajab and other areas by different teams of the federal agency. As per available information, alleged suspicious foreign funding is under the scanner of the agency.

People familiar with the development said that the search operations are in relation to collection of information to probe alleged money laundering charges and suspicious foreign funding against the news company and its promoters. The houses of senior management officials were also reportedly searched by the agency sleuths.
