Enforcement Directorate officers on Tuesday questioned former chief minister Farooq Abdullah in an alleged 'money laundering and J&K Cricket Association fund siphoning' case. Abdullah said that the central agencies would keep troubling leaders of the National Conference till the assembly elections.

ED alleges over ₹46 crore funds of the J&K Cricket Association were siphoned off between 2001 and 2021. The funds were part of ₹112 crore grant BCCI had given to J&KCA. ED had summoned Abdullah twice and also attached his property and that of his associate in JKCA worth around ₹12 crore. He has recorded his statement in the case as well.

The National Conference maintained that Abdullah was innocent and was paying the price for opposing the BJP. "These things will continue. Till the time elections happen, these people will keep troubling us," Abdullah told reporters outside the ED office in Srinagar.
