ED prepares 3-page questionnaire to quiz Virbhadra’s wife, Pratibha Singh
NEW DELHI: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has prepared a three-page questionnaire with as many as 32 questions for the questioning of Pratibha Singh, wife of Himachal Pradesh chief minister Virbhadra Singh, in connection with a money laundering case. She is likely to appear before ED on August 9-10.

The ED case is based on Central Bureau of Investigation’s ( CBI) first information report, which accused Singh and his wife of allegedly accumulating assets worth Rs 6.03 crore during his stint as union steel minister in the previous United Progressive Alliance ( UPA) government at the Centre. When contacted Pratibha Singh and Virbhadra Singh refused to comment on ED summons.

Earlier Singh had denied allegations and termed the CBI-ED probe as “political vendetta”.

ED sleuths said they want to question Singh’s wife on the investments and source of income of the family, how the family came to know about the south Delhi farmhouse where they invested later and her association with Vakamullah Chandrashekhar’s Tarini Infrastructure.

The ED has alleged that Singh invested his unaccounted income in LIC policies in his name and in the name of his wife and other family members through an agent, Anand Chauhan, by showing the same as agricultural income. “
