ED for red corner notice against Koda aide

The twin directions came after the ED approached the court pleading that Vastavade was in a foreign country and to arrest him a red corner notice against him was necessary.

RANCHI: A Special Court on Monday gave permission to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to approach the appropriate authority to issue a red corner notice to arrest Anil Adinath Vastavade as he has been evading arrest in the scam allegedly involved Madhu Koda.

Vastavade, who is one of the seven accused in the money laundering case of the former chief minister of Jharkhand, faces a non-bailable arrest warrant by the ED court after the Koda scam was unearthed on November 30, 2009.

Besides giving permission for issuance of red corner notice, the judge of the Prevention for Money Laundering Act Court, N N Singh, allowed the ED to move appropriate authority in seeking revocation of Vastavade's passport.

The twin directions came after the ED approached the court pleading that Vastavade was in a foreign country and to arrest him a red corner notice against him was necessary.

The petition also stated that Vastavade's passport should be revoked to restrict his movement.
