ED claims to have evidence of HDIL brass gifting houses to Maharashtra netas
Some sources said a number of MLAs from Congress and NCP are said to be among the politicians favoured by the Wadhawans.

Agency insiders claimed it recovered documents during raids on Monday on properties owned by close associates of HDIL directors Rakesh and Sarang Wadhawan in connection with its probe into an alleged multi-crore money laundering case.
The documents showed that the father-son duo had ‘gifted’ houses to several politicians at posh locations, sources alleged. The agency chose to remain tight-lipped about the identities of the politicians.

Joy Thomas, former MD of the Punjab Maharashtra Cooperative Bank, had indicated in his September 21letter to the RBI that the HDIL directors had made maximum profit till 2012.
ED Quizzes Wives of HDIL Promoters
The father-son duo of Rakesh and Sarang Wadhawan are in the custody of the Mumbai Police in an alleged loan default case caused to PMC Bank. Their wives Malti and Anu were probed by the federal agency over the weekend, officials said.
“The duo was quizzed on the offshore properties of HDIL promoters,” an official privy to the probe told ET. “There are unconfirmed reports of the promoters owning properties in London and Dubai. If the probe confirms these findings, then we will soon seek assistance from these countries to seize the offshore assets.”
The agency is in the process of sending a communique to Maldives to attach a yacht owned by the HDIL promoters. Over the weekend, it seized another private jet, three more high-end cars, three all-terrain bikes, a speedboat and two golf carts owned by them, officials said.
