Economic development issues, including poverty alleviation, are always part of America's dialogue with India, the US State Department has said.

WASHINGTON: Economic development issues, including poverty alleviation, are always part of America's dialogue with India, the US State Department has said.

"In our bilateral dialogue with India, we are always interested in economic development issues, development more generally, the efforts of the Indian government to alleviate poverty," State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland told reporters at her daily news conference.

"It's always part of the conversation, and it's part of our bilateral dialogue as well," Nuland said in response to a question.
