ECI extends SIR timeline in six states, Union Territories
New Delhi: ECI has extended the timeline for special intensive revision of electoral rolls in six states and Union Territories, even as the remaining six states and UTs completed the first SIR-linked milestone on Thursday.

The schedules were revised for Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Uttar Pradesh.

The enumeration period for Tamil Nadu and Gujarat has been extended till December 14 and draft electoral rolls will be published on December 19, ECI said. For Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the enumeration period has been extended till December 18 and draft electoral rolls will be published on December 23. The enumeration period for UP has been extended till December 26 and draft electoral rolls will be published on December 31.
