EC Notice: Narendra Modi gets time to respond
NEW DELHI: The Election Commission of India has given BJP’s Narendra Modi four more days to respond to its notice on his remark about Congress’ election symbol at a recent rally in Chhattisgarh.

Citing Modi’s busy election schedule, the BJP sought a week to respond on Saturday. The ECI said he must respond by 11.30 am on November 20. The Congress had complained to the ECI that Modi’s speech violated the Model Code of Conduct.

Modi urged a gathering in Dongargaon, Chhattisgarh, to save the state from the “khooni panja” (murderous paw) — a reference to the Congress’s hand symbol — and vote for the BJP.
