EC likely to announce LS poll schedule this weekend
The Election Commission is likely to announce the schedule of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections this weekend, sources have said.

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission is likely to announce the schedule of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections this weekend, sources have said.
The polls, to be held in six to seven phases, are expected to begin around third week of April, 2009.
The Election Commission will hold final talks about the polls with the Home Secretary.
Sources also said the Commission is likely to meet the DGPs of 'sensitive' states with strong naxal threat.
The code of conduct will be implemented once the poll dates are out.
