EC has worked hand in glove to help Mamata in Bhabanipur by-poll: BJP

A day after Bhabnipur by-poll, the BJP leadership in Bengal levelled serious allegations against the Election Commission, saying it has worked hand in glove to help Mamata Banerjee win the by-poll in Bhabanipur.

“If the EC is helping West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to win the by-poll, then they will not take any complaint. We have filed complaints during the day but no action has been taken into consideration. Not a single complaint by the BJP has been taken into consideration. Even a fake voter was caught inside a booth. What is the law and order situation in Bhabanipur,” BJP national Vice-President Dilip Ghosh alleged.

Dilip Ghosh also claimed that he was attacked in broad daylight and four persons were arrested but they were released. “Police did not take proper action against the accused. Even MP Arjun Singh was attacked but no action was taken against the attackers,” Ghosh claimed.


While BJP leaders have been prevented from moving freely, Trinamool ministers were freely travelling from one location to other. Ace football player and our leader Kalyan Chaubey's vehicle was vandalized. He is a respected person and a veteran player. Why would such an incident happen? Ghosh questioned.

Bhabanipur by-poll was on September 30 along with polls in Samserganj and Jangipur in Murshidabad. The results of the poll will be on October 3.
