EC expedites booth mapping process across West Bengal as part of SIR

The booth mapping percentage of West Midnapore is 62.94%, Jhargram 51.36% and Alipurduar is 53.73%, which shows the above percentage of voters have been identified as per the 2002 SIR benchmark.
With the data of three districts being uploaded, the voters of these three districts will be able to check their data now by entering their EPIC card numbers in the website, sources said.
The entire booth mapping exercise is based on 2002 SIR. The WB-CEO’s office is trying to expedite the process ahead of the festive holidays of Diwali starting from October 18, a top official said.
The District Magistrates, who are DEOs, have been instructed to expedite the process in the next few days. However, the previous unofficial deadline to complete the both mapping process was October 15.
Apart from West Midnapore, Jhargram and Alipurduar, the booth mapping percentage of Purulia stands at 61.29%, Kolkata North 55.35%, Malda 54.49%, Purulia 61.2% and Kalimpong 64.27%.
Meanwhile, booth mapping of North 24 Parganas is 45% and South 24 Parganas is 50-55% are ongoing and is yet to be completed, sources said.
