RAJAHMUNDRY (AP): East Godavari district administration will be webcasting the polling process at all the booths to maintain transparency in the upcoming panchayat, Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

"Over 3,900 polling centres would be set up for Lok Sabha and assembly elections in the district. We are making efforts to install webcasting systems in almost all polling centres to maintain transparency, since live coverage of the election procedure would ensure that there is no place for irregularities," East Godavari district collector Neetu Kumar Prasad said here today.

Speaking at a training programme conducted for engineering students, she said "for the first time webcasting facilities would be set up for municipal elections to be held on March 30 at 496 polling centres."

"We will try to use live webcast coverage for all 496 booths and take all necessary steps for Lok Sabha and assembly elections as per schedule," she said, asking for co-operation from all sections of society.

District Joint Collector R Muthayala Raju said that training classes would be conducted for postal ballot shortly.
