NEW DELHI: An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter Scale shook parts of north-eastern India today.

The slight-intensity quake originated in the Sikkim region at 11:12 AM, according to Meteorological Department.

Mild tremors were felt in the neighbouring states. The quake had a focal depth of 36 kilometre, an MeT official said.

There is no report of causality or damage to property so far.
