"What is happening in the rural areas is not a happy thing," said Bose. "Let us not forget all the ministers, MLAs and MPs have been given mandate by the people. The responsibilities of all political leaders, all MLAs, MPs, chief ministers and governors - all of us who claim to be in dispensation - responsibilities have been given to us by the common man. Don't underestimate the power of the common man. Therefore our first duty, second and third duty is towards the common man."
Bose said the state election commissioner (SEC) requested an appointment with him from Raj Bhavan. "I want to discuss several vital points with the state election commissioner. Once he is ready, he can come today or any day. I know he is busy," he said. Earlier, Bose had called SEC Rajiva Sinha to Raj Bhavan. However, Sinha did not meet the governor earlier.
Sinha went to meet Bose on Sunday evening at Raj Bhavan. Separately, the SEC again sought 485 companies of paramilitary forces from the Union home ministry again for the polls.
Meanwhile, police said it recovered a large quantity of crude bombs from Murshidabad.
