Dulhera gangrape case: Bail plea of two accused rejected

According to prosecution, a woman was gangraped by 11 people near Dulhera village under Shahpur police station in the district on June 4, 2014.

MUZAFFARNAGAR: The bail plea of two persons arrested in connection with the 2014 Dulhera gangrape case was rejected here by a local court, police said today.

Judge K P Singh, presiding over the fast-track court, last evening rejected the bail plea of two accused Naseem and Kala.

According to prosecution, a woman was gangraped by 11 people near Dulhera village under Shahpur police station in the district on June 4, 2014. The victim was allegedly abducted by the accused who took her to a nearby graveyard and raped her.

Police had registered a case and arrested 11 people in this connection. The crime had sparked a protest, with angry villagers laying siege to the local police station, following which a circle officer was shunted out and six personnel, including an SHO, were suspended for alleged negligence.
