The transport department seems to be going slow on suspending the driving licence (DL) in cases of serious traffic offences in Bengaluru.

Not a good sign for a city of 5.4 million vehicles for 10 million population. The data, reviewed by Umesh R Yadav, show the transport department has suspended DLs of only 39% of drivers caught for drunken drivingby the City Police in the January to-June period.
