Mumbai: Leaders from both the ruling Mahayuti and the Opposition-led Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra have raised doubts on the Saif Ali Khan attack case but for different reasons.

BJP minister Nitesh Rane on Wednesday claimed he had doubts on the case, saying, "I saw him (Saif's visuals) while coming out of the hospital, But I have doubts whether he was stabbed or it was just acting. He was dancing while walking."

Calling the Bollywood actor "garbage", the minister further said, "Look at what Bangladeshis are doing in Mumbai. They entered Saif's house. Earlier, they used to stand at road crossings but now they have started entering houses. Maybe he came to take him (Saif) away. It is good, garbage should be taken away."

Rane, known for his provocative speeches, claimed that everyone speaks up when a 'Khan' is attacked but they remain silent when a Hindu actor is attacked while highlighting how Sushant Singh Rajput's death did not evoke any concern from political parties.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole also raised doubts and wondered if the police had caught the real suspect. "A newspaper has claimed that there is a difference between the accused caught by the police and the suspect who was seen in the CCTV earlier. I can see the difference between the two. The police first caught similar looking people but then released them, so there is a question whether he is the real culprit. Police should answer this," the Congress leader said.

Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, who is in Davos, while speaking to a TV channel said that the government would "treat the attack on Saif as well as a common man" with the same importance and that the police probe is being conducted in a thorough manner.
