Didn't discuss Rafale, sad that you visited me for petty politics: Manohar Parrikar to Rahul Gandhi

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar lashed out against Rahul Gandhi for using his visit to his house for "petty political gains".

Asserting that there was no discussion on the Rafale issue in his five-minute meet with the Congress President yesterday, Goa Chief Minister has asked Rahul Gandhi to tell the truth and not to use his courtesy visit to an ailing person to "feed political opportunism".

"...let down that you have used this visit for your petty political gains. In the 05 minutes you spent with me, neither did you mention anything about Rafale, not did we discuss anything about/related to it," Parrikar said in a letter written to Rahul Gandhi.




This comes a day after Gandhi claimed that Former Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had stated that he has nothing to do with the 'new Rafale deal'.

"Yesterday (Tuesday) I met (Goa Chief Minister and former Defence Minister Manohar) Parrikar, and he said that while changing the deal, the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) did not discuss it with the Defence Minister," Rahul Gandhi said this hours after he met Parrikar at the Goa assembly complex in Panaji.

"Mr Parrikar clearly stated that he has nothing to do with the new deal that was orchestrated by Mr Narendra Modi to benefit Anil Ambani," Rahul said.
