Don't turn Delhi into dumping ground: HC to Public Works Department
NEW DELHI: "Don't turn Delhi into a dumping ground," Delhi High Court today remarked over non-cleaning of rubble from the construction site of the Barapullah flyover above the Kushak nallah here by the Public Works Department.

"Keep the area clean. Don't turn Delhi into a dumping ground," a bench of justices Badar Durrez Ahmed and Ashutosh Kumar said.

The remark was made after photographs were placed before the court, showing rubble lying around.

The department said its flyover project would be completed by March 31, 2017 and prior to handing over the area to the municipal corporation, it will clean the site.

It also told the court that currently there was no obstruction to flow of water in the nallah.

The court was hearing a PIL initiated by it to take steps for checking waterlogging in South Extension part I area and has been monitoring it since 2012.
