Don't enter politics to make money: Mulayam Singh Yadav to UP ministers
SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav turned his attention toward ministers in son Akhilesh Yadav's government, telling them to serve people and not "make money".

"You should not enter politics to make money. If that's the aim, then you should start a business," Mulayam told partymen at socialist icon Karpoori Thakur's birth anniversary at the party headquarters on Sunday. "Some legislators behave like kings. They don't want to come out of the comfort of their air-conditioned rooms. This will go against you in the elections," the SP chief said.
Mulayam has in the past, too, embarrassed Akhilesh, questioning the winnability of his ministers on the basis of his and their performances. "Can you tell me how many of your ministers will be re-elected?" he had once asked Akhilesh at a public function.
On Sunday, Mulayam warned Akhilesh against sycophants. "Beware of them. As a leader, it's your duty to listen to everyone, but when it comes to taking a decision, you should be judicious," Mulayam said.
Although he made no specific references, political observers believe his comments were directed towards the recent expulsion ordered by him of two of Akhilesh's close aides, Sunil Singh Yadav and Anand Bhadauria, from the party - a decision that was revoked following reported pressure from his son.
