Don't be stubborn, let my government handle Delhi Police: CM Arvind Kejriwal to PM Modi
NEW DELHI: Stepping up its campaign against the Delhi Police and the Centre on Tuesday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to leave aside his “stubbornness” and hand over the charge of police and the Anti-Corruption Branch to the Delhi government.

Around the time the AAP supremo tweeted his demand for Delhi Police’s control, party leaders Sanjay Singh, Ashutosh also met the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday and apprised him of what they referred to as “high-level corruption in shielding a Hawala operator.” The party was referring to Hawala case related with the transfer of Delhi’s former-VAT Commissioner Vijay Kumar.

“VAT department of Delhi Government had unearthed a major Hawala racket by conducting raids on several premises in Delhi. It was found out that more than 200 companies were being run from a room and a known Hawala operator called Naresh Jain was behind it. Before the Hawala operator could be nailed, LG Najeeb Jung abruptly transferred and relieved VAT Commissioner Vijay Kumar, flouting all rules and norms,” a party statement said.

Apart from bringing it up with Singh, the party leaders also met MK Meena, Joint Commissioner, Anti Corruption Branch and gave him a formal complaint.
