Don't be demoralised over Lok Sabha defeat: Maharashtra Congress to workers

Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Manikrao Thakare today asked party workers not to lose heart over defeat in Lok Sabha elections.

MUMBAI: Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee ( MPCC) president Manikrao Thakare today asked party workers not to lose heart over defeat in Lok Sabha elections.

He also expressed confidence that political situation in the state would be favourable to the ruling party in Assembly polls, which are due later this year.

Addressing the coordinators of 288 Assembly constituencies at their first meeting here as part of preparations for elections, Thakare said the party workers should unitedly fight the upcoming elections and not be bogged down by the rout in Lok Sabha.

"Situation will definitely favour us," Thakre added. The coordinators, who are aspiring for candidature in the polls, were appointed by the state unit for all the constituencies to strengthen organisation at the grassroot-level.
