GUWAHATI: With Assam government planning to eliminate the controlling boards of madrassa and sanskrit tols minority organisations have announced agitation programmes opposing the move.

Assam education minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma had stated of madrassa and sanskrit tols will be dismantled to introduce modern education.

A minority organisation has decided to organise state wide protest on May 11.

All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) leader, Aminul Islam said the move to disband madrassa board is anti-Muslim. “This move is RSS sponsored. Without consulting intellectuals, educationist how can the government can do so.”

He added, “By this move only a particular community is targeted.” The government plans to bring madrassa education under the Board of Secondary Education Assam(SEBA) and sanskrit tols under Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit & Ancient Studies University.

Sarma said, "We want to introduce modern learning like computers in these educational institutes. We have to change the existing structure,"
