DMK walks out of Puducherry assembly
PUDUCHERRY: Amid noisy scenes, DMK members today walked out of the Puducherry Assembly protesting denial of permission to raise issues relating to Karaikal region.

It all started when Speaker V Sabapathy declined permission to DMK member A M H Nazeem, representing Karaikal, when he sought to raise issues concerning unemployed youths and higher education of girl students during Question Time and Zero Hour.

The Speaker asked Nazeem not to raise issues that would not be relevant for taking up during Zero Hour. He said such issues may be raised during the debate on demands for grants.

Surprisingly, a section of ruling AINRC members and opposition Congress urged the Speaker to let Nazeem speak on subjects relating to his constituency.

However, as the Speaker stood his ground, Nazeem and the other DMK MLA Nanda T.Saravanan staged a walk out during Zero Hour.

Earlier, after being denied permission during question time, Nazeem who lost his cool and made a comment against the Speaker, drowning the House in noisy scenes with AIADMK member A.Anbalagan objecting to the act of DMK MLA.
