DMK protests reservations in super speciality hospital
CHENNAI: Days after criticising the ruling AIADMK over reservation in appointment of candidates to a multi-super speciality hospital here, DMK today announced it would stage a protest against the government on January 21.

The party's student wing's protest here will be led by DMK's south Chennai secretary and MLA J Anbazhagan, the party said.

Claiming that the Tamil Nadu government was not following reservation policy in recruitment of doctors in the multi super-speciality hospital, coming up at the New Secretariat- Assembly building complex constructed by the previous DMK government, party chief M Karunanidhi had threatened to hold a protest if it was not implemented.

Soon after coming to power in 2011, ruling AIADMK had decided to convert the New Assembly-Secretariat Complex inside Omandurar Government Estate here into a multi super-speciality hospital and include a medical college there.
