He was first admitted to the same hospital on December 1 for "optimisation of nutrition and hydration."

CHENNAI: DMK President M Karunanidhi was admitted to Kauvery hospital here late tonight after he complained of difficulty in breathing.

The hospital said Karunanidhi was readmitted with breathing difficulty due to throat and lung infection.

"Treatment has been initiated to clear his infection. He is stable and is being treated by a team of doctors", said Dr S Aravindan, Executive Director, Kauveri Hospital, in a statement.

He was first admitted to the same hospital on December 1 for "optimisation of nutrition and hydration." After undergoing the medical treatment, he improved substantially and was discharged.
