DMK complains to EC about AIADMK indulging in distribution of money in SC assembly constituency

CHENNAI: DMK today petitioned the Election Commission alleging that ruling AIADMK was indulging in distribution of money in the bypoll-bound Sankaranakoil (SC) assembly constituency in Tirunelveli District.

In telegrams sent to Chief Election Commissioner S Y Qureishi and state Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar, DMK MP S Thangavelu and party advocate K S Radhakrishnan alleged Ministers camping in the district were distributing money to the voters, in some places with the help of police.

"Police don't check AIADMK vehicles while we are being subjected to checks in violation of laws," they said.

Seeking the EC's interevention in preventing distribution of money, they said it should take all efforts to ensure fair poll in the constituency.
