DMK chief Karunanidhi says birthday wishes for him was top Twitter trend

CHENNAI: Thanking all those who had wished him on his birthday, DMK President Karunanidhi today said a whopping 47.67 lakh people greeted him and wishes for him topped Twitter India trends.

"Birthday wishes for me on Twitter by using the tag "#HBDkalaignar" was on the first place yesterday in Twitter India trends, I thank them," Karunanidhi said in a statement.

A total of 47,66,837 persons had greeted him through SMS, social networking sites Facebook, Google Plus, and micro-blogging site Twitter, his website, besides phone calls and personal greetings, Karunanidhi said in a "thanks message" to those who had wished him well on his 92nd birthday yesterday.

"Your greetings and wishes encourages my work for the people, it is a further boost to work more for them and I express my heartfelt thanks to everyone who greeted me on my birthday," he said.
