DMK accuses UPA of adopting `step-motherly attitude` towards Puducherry

The Congress-led UPA government at the Centre is adopting a `step motherly attitude` towards development of Puducherry and is causing financial strain.

PUDUCHERRY: The Congress-led UPA government at the Centre is adopting a `step motherly attitude` towards development of Puducherry and is causing financial strain by declining to write off loans and interest due over the years, DMK said today.

When Centre had approved of Rs 12,000 crore package for Bihar, it showed no response to the plea of Puducherry for writing off of its Rs 4000 crore due, DMK convener in Puducherry, M A S Subramanian alleged in a statement.

Subramanian also charged the Rangasamy-led AINRC government here with neglecting Puducherry without utilizing the funds from the Centre to the maximum.
