DMDK's decision to go solo will benefit PMK: Anbumani Ramadoss
COIMBATORE: PMK's chief ministerial candidate Anbumani Ramadoss today claimed the DMDK's decision to go it alone in the May 16 Tamil Nadu assembly elections would be favourable to his party.

The decision has put to end the confusion prevailing among the political parties, many of whom had wooed Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK), Ramadoss told reporters here.

He said the DMDK's move to go solo would turn the trend in favour of Paattaali Makkal Katchi (PMK).

However, he said DMDK chief Vijayakant's decision cannot be taken as final as he had forged alliances in the previous elections despite saying that his party would contest alone.

Ramadoss, a former union minister, said PMK had already made it clear that it would contest the coming polls on its own and would not go behind any other party for alliance as it was confident that the people would decide in its favour.

Claiming that both the ruling AIADMK and DMK have already lost the confidence of the people, he said the Karunanidhi-led party was a sinking ship as it had been pushed to the third place in the 2011 assembly and 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
