Divya Spandana rubbishes reports of quitting Congress' social media cell
Ramya has been credited for turning around the social media initiatives of the Congress.
Ramya told ET on Wednesday noon that the reports which saying she was removed from her post were "silly", and brushed aside some suggestions she was joining the BJP.
Speculation on her resignation began after Ramya deleted from Twitter her bio describing herself as the social media incharge of Congress. Normally a prolific tweeter, the actor-turned-politician has not been active over the last three days.
Ramya, who has been credited for turning around the social media story of the Congress, has been lately embroiled in a number of controversies. She has been dragged into a sexual harassment case within her team, where she has been accused of looking the other way when complained to about the misconduct.
Recently, a sedition case was filed against her for a photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that she had tweeted. In her post, she had called PM Modi a 'chor' (thief) questioning him for not responding to allegations on the controversial Rafale deal.
Following her tweet, a lawyer in Lucknow, Syed Rizwan Ahmad, had filed a complaint against her. "Her tweet was derogatory. The PM represents our sovereignty and republic. It is a disgrace to our nation and is a contempt," Ahmad had said.
