Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee will lead a "harmony procession" in Kolkata on January 22, the day of Ram temple's consecration ceremony in Ayodhya.

Banerjee said she will visit the Kalighat temple and then kick off the "harmony procession". She will walk from Hazra to Park Circus in the southern parts of the city. She invited people from all walks of lives and communities to join the rally.

"On January 22, I will organise a rally in the city. Ahead of this, I will offer my prayers to Goddess Kali at Kali Temple. I will walk in this special 'harmony procession' which will end in Park Circus, where there are churches and mosques," the chief minister said.

"I have always said 'dharma jaar jaar, utsob shobaar' (religion is one's own, festivals are everybody's). Religion is one's own choice... I respect sadhus. I am not countering anyone by organising the procession. I am organising this as the following day (January 23) is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's birth anniversary," Banerjee said.
