'Dictatorship will end': AAP's Sanjay Singh, Mamata Banerjee and INDIA bloc members react after Kejriwal gets bail

Celebrations erupted at AAP's office in Delhi after the Supreme Court granted interim bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal till June 1. Jubilant workers danced and raised slogans such as "Jail ke taale toot gaye, Kejriwal ji choot gaye".

In a major relief, the Supreme Court on Friday granted Kejriwal interim bail to campaign in the Lok Sabha elections.

A bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Datta said Kejriwal, arrested in a money-laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam, will have to surrender and go back to jail on June 2.


The last phase of the general elections will be held on June 1.

Reactions of INDIA bloc members:
Sanjay Singh: AAP's member who was also in jail for months said "Truth can be troubled but not defeated. The decision of the Hon'ble Supreme Court is welcome. The dictatorship will end. Satyamev Jayate. The country will see the wonders of Kejriwal."


Mamata Banarjee: In a post on X, TMC supremo expressed her happiness over Kejriwal getting bail on Thursday.

Pawan Khera: Congress spokesperson said "We welcome the intervention by the Supreme Court in granting interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal...We hope that the former chief minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren also gets due justice."

Deepak Babaria: On interim bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, AICC in-charge of Delhi and Haryana Deepak Babaria says, "The court decision is right. BJP had attempted to block him from campaigning for elections. It is BJP's policy to send all Opposition leaders behind bars and stop them from campaigning for the elections in one way or the other. This is a stop on the dictatorship they had started...BJP is facing a crushing defeat across the country. This decision will strengthen the ecosystem."
