Dhumal to change work culture in government offices

Prem Kumar Dhumal on Tuesday, said his government would take steps to change the work culture in all the government departments and Public Sector Undertakings to ensure timely and proper completion of development projects.

SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal on Tuesday, said his government would take steps to change the work culture in all the government departments and Public Sector Undertakings to ensure timely and proper completion of development projects.

Change in working environment would go a long way in timely completion of development projects and save cost escalation caused by their delayed execution, he said addressing a public meeting at Kullu.

"Delay and substandard material in all such projects would not be accepted since there would be zero tolerance for corruption and inefficiency", he said.

Honest officials would be rewarded by the state government for their efficiency and outstanding performance in execution of developmental and welfare projects, Dhumal said.

Earlier, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone of DRDA building which is to be built at an estimated cost of Rs 50 lakh.

Dhumal said job card holders registered under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme would also be eligible to draw minimum wages for 100 days in a year guaranteed employment assured to them under the scheme.
