Dhirubhai Ambani may make it to school books, Gujarat government mulling over chapters on the industrialist
Apart from Dhirubhai, the government may also introduce chapters on the Jnanpith award-winning Gujarati writers Umashankar Joshi and Pannalal Patel.

Speaking to ET, Gujarat education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama confirmed the possibility of introducing chapters on the Gujarat-born industrialist. “However, since no concrete decision in this regard has been taken, I shall not be able to say anything more on this,” Chudasama said.
Apart from Dhirubhai, the government may also introduce chapters on the Jnanpith award-winning Gujarati writers Umashankar Joshi and Pannalal Patel.
Asource in the education department maintained that while there is some kind of consensus over the inclusion, the roadmap for introducing the chapters is not ready yet.
“It will take a while before the final call is taken and the chapters are included in the text books,” said the source adding that while the current academic session is already on, if at all, the inclusion would be possible only from the next session at the earliest.
The Ambanis always shared a more than warm relationship with successive Gujarat governments and while the senior Ambani had set up his industrial base in the state, both borthers Mukesh and Anil Ambani had been close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
