A day after governor Jagdeep Dhankhar got nominated as the NDA's vice presidential candidate, the Trinamool leadership on Sunday heaved a sigh of relief and said that Dhankhar has received the prize for maligning Mamata Banerjee and disrupting the West Bengal administration.

"Jagdeep Dhakhar was a constant trouble and disturbing element to the West Bengal government. Dhankhar's nomination as vice-president is a reward for making the Bengal government's life miserable. We are relieved that he has been nominated as vice president," Saugata Ray, senior Trinamool Lok Sabha MP and state vice-president, said. "Dhankhar has worked as a BJP spokesperson. His performance has been excellent as a BJP spokesperson and thus he has received the award," state Trinamool spokesperson and senior minister Chandrima Bhattacharya told ET.
