NEW DELHI: A petition seeking stay on the execution of Devinder Singh Bhullar, convicted in the Delhi blasts case, was filed in the Supreme Court today.

Senior counsel Ram Jethmalani mentioned the matter before a three-judge bench, headed by CJI Altamas Kabir, but the bench did not pass any stay order. Jethmalani claimed that arrangements were being made to hang Bhullar like Ajmal Kasab and Muhammad Afzal.

Bhullar's wife Navneet Kaur has filed the review petition on the ground that his conviction was based solely on his confession after he was brought from Germany.

Jethmalani said that his review plea should be heard soon.

Bhullar's wife in her petition said that the court order of April 12, 2O13, would send a mentally ill to the gallows after eight-year delay in deciding his mercy petition.
