Devendra Fadnavis says not afraid of Mahgathbandan in Maharashtra

In his first comments on the attempted alliance for a Mahagathbandhan or Mega alliance in Maharashtra against the BJP, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said that the party is not worried about any of the alliances as the ‘people will eventually chose the BJP for development’ over other parties.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister was speaking at the end of the two day state executive meet of the party in Mumbai and was referring to the recent overtures by the Congress and NCP to get a grand coalition of other parties to fight in an alliance against the BJP in the forthcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly polls.

Laying the ground for the campaign for the BJP in the state, Fadnavis said that the BJP has achieved in four years what the Congress and NCP could not achieve in all the years that they stayed in power. “Let the Congress and NCP come and tell what they have done in the last 15 years and I will present what I have done in the last 4 years, which is more than what they have done in all these years. The people of the state should know how they have been cheated all these years.”said Fadnavis.


The Chief Minister touched on the issue of the agitating Maratha community who have been demanding reservations. Fadnavis said that his government has taken many decisions for the Maratha community and is committed to addressing the issues of the community.
