Devendra Fadnavis directs probe into purchase of 'junk' ammo by Congress-NCP govt
Devendra Fadnavis has directed a senior official to inquire into the purchase of ammunition worth Rs 100 crore by the previous Congress-NCP government.

The decision was taken by Fadnavis in response to the issue brought to his notice by Shelar, who alleged that the previous Congress-NCP government purchased Rs 100 crore worth of 'junk' ammunition.
The BJP leader had written to Fadnavis, drawing his attention to the purchase of 4.80 lakh (bullets) 7.62x51 mm NATO belt ammunition during 2008-12.
"The entire police in Maharashtra does not possess a single rifle which can fire/use the ammunition," Shelar said.
"The CM has asked Additional Chief Secretary (Home) to inquire and do the needful," he added.
