Mumbai: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday termed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi a 'serial liar' for claiming that BJP came to power due to irregularities in the assembly polls.

Fadnavis referred to psephologist Sanjay Kumar of the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), who had apologised for putting out numbers that claimed that in two constituencies in the state - Nashik West and Hingna - the number of voters went up by 47% and 43% whereas in Ramtek and Devlali the number fell by 38% and 36%.

"The data given by Rahul Gandhi is based on CSDS date. They made allegations on the Election Commission and tried to put our legitimately elected government in the dock. With CSDS now apologising, we will have to see whether he (Rahul) apologises. I don't think he would apologise because Rahul is a serial liar," Fadnavis said.
