Union home minister Amit Shah on Friday said a golden future awaits the country's youths as corruption, nepotism and casteism have been replaced by growth and development in the last 10 years.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad's (ABVP) national convention, Shah recalled his ABVP days and said that he is also a product of ABVP. "I say without any hesitation on a public platform that I am an organic product of Vidyarthi Parishad," he said. Shah emphasised in his speech how the Modi government has not only restored India's cultural glory but also led India on a path of development.

"The last 10 years have proved that preserving cultural heritage and making modern development are not contradictory, but help each other," he said. "India has preserved its cultural heritage and so much development has dazzled the world. No one could have imagined that Ram temple would be built in Ayodhya and Ram Lalla would sit in his house," he added.
