Deve Gowda assures corruption-free deal for investors in Karnataka

BENGALURU: Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda has sought to assure investor community that doing business with the new Congress-JD(S) coalition regime in Karnataka will be easy as clearances will be time-bound.

The JD(S) national president, who also represents Hassan in the Lok Sabha, said he will ensure the new coalition government will kick-start new policy initiatives to further push the ease-of-doing-business in Karnataka. He was addressing a group of 350 industry leaders at the annual general meeting (AGM) of Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC).

“I appeal to all investors both domestic and international businessmen to establish or expand your business entities in Karnataka. I assure corruption-free and hands-on government to support your business needs like surplus power, quick land allotments and hassle-free administrative procedures,” Gowda said.


He added, “Doing Business in Karnataka will improve radically under the new coalition government. The government will introduce investment-friendly policies soon and without creating any hindrances or hurdles. Have trust in the present political set up," he said, while urging investors to start and expand their businesses in Karnataka.

BCIC's new president Kishore Alva urged the government to build a congestion-free corridor from Vidhana Soudha to the international airport and beautify the Hebbal lake. This will enhance Bengaluru's brand equity in the eyes of visitors, he said.
