Despite cut in Central funding, Assam will continue investing in development projects: Tarun Gogoi
GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Friday reiterated that despite a cut in funds from the Centre, his government will continue investing in development projects.

"Irrespective of the Centre's indifferent attitude towards Assam and its people and reduction of developmental funds, the state government to purse welfare schemes along with its development agenda rigorously," Gogoi said.

The minister said that although a change in funding pattern and dwindling fund flow has had an impact on the development of the state, the government is devising a mechanism to generate its own revenue.

Gogoi said the Centre has withheld about Rs 17,000 crore oil royalty dues and other developmental funds meant for Assam.
