'Desirable for India and Pak to live in peace'

External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday said it was desirable that India and Pakistan live in peace and a tension-free atmosphere.

NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday said it was desirable that India and Pakistan live in peace and a tension-free atmosphere.
Assuming charge of his ministry, he said that security agencies had collected "certain" evidence with regard to Pakistani involvement in Mumbai blasts and this will be shared with Islamabad.
"We can't alter our neighbour. It is desirable to live in peace and a tension-free atmosphere," he told reporters here.
Mukherjee said peace and stability in the region as well as other parts of the world was necessary to enable India to attain a sustained high economic growth.
