CHANDIGARH: The Haryana police have registered a case regarding a threat letter sent to the Sirsa headquartered Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh.

A threat letter was found by Dera functionaries when they were reading out letters written by Dera followers at a religious congregation at the sect headquarters on March 12, Sirsa SP, Satender Kumar said.

Besides abusing him, the letter also issued a threat to the life of the Dera Sacha Sauda chief.

A case in this regard under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered at Sadar police station in Sirsa, he said, adding that the investigations were on.

Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has Z plus security cover, he said.
