Deputy CM Yumnam Joykumar Singh expelled from National People's Party
In an order issued by NPP Manipur unit general secretary (admin), Thongkam Haokip said Joykumar Singh has been expelled "on the recommendation of the Disciplinary Committee (of the party) for six years under the constitution of the party".
In an order issued by NPP Manipur unit general secretary (admin), Thongkam Haokip said Joykumar Singh has been expelled "on the recommendation of the Disciplinary Committee (of the party) for six years under the constitution of the party". With his expulsion, Joykumar Singh has "ceased to be a primary member of NPP, Manipur, with immediate effect," the statement said.
Recently the party expelled state unite president Thangminlien Kipgen.
Joykumar Singh is former director general of Manipur police. All the four NPP were given ministerial berth.
Recently the three year old BJP led government in Manipur received massive set back as nine MLAs supporting the party have deserted the coalition.
In a sudden turn of events, three Manipur BJP MLAs joined Congress and four National People's Party (NPP) MLAs, an independent MLA and Trinamool Congress MLA withdrew support to the BJP led government and expressed desire to support Congress.
NPP leaders met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and both BJP and NPP have resolved to work for development of Manipur and party was back in the government.
